Cocaine-Induced Addiction Model

The cocaine induced addiction model is an animal experimental model that simulates the core characteristics of addiction, such as drug reward effects, dependence formation, withdrawal reactions, and relapse tendencies, by repeatedly administering cocaine to experimental animals. It is used to explore the neural mechanisms of addiction, withdrawal intervention strategies, and the development of anti addiction drugs.

This model commonly uses classic paradigms such as Conditional Place Preference (CPP) and Self Administration (SA) to focus on the regulatory effect of cocaine on the central dopaminergic system, accurately replicating key pathological features such as drug craving and environmental cues induced relapse.
