Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) is used to evaluate the conduction function of peripheral nerves, and usually includes the measurement of Motor Nerve Conduction Velocity (MCV) and Sensory Nerve Conduction Velocity (SCV).
Abnormalities of MCV and SCV are manifested as decreased conduction velocity and reduced amplitude. The former mainly reflects myelin damage, while the latter indicates axonal damage.
